My Favorite Things Card Tutorial

When I bought this stamp in February I had no idea just how many people I’d be missing right now.

Hopefully, we’ll never take for granted catching up with a friend over a coffee again. In the meantime, I designed this card for you to send your friends and let them know you’re thinking about them.

Time to stamp and emboss!

Cut 2 pieces of white card plus scrap-

10 x 14.4cm

9.5 x 13.9cm

  • Grab the smaller piece and ink the edges using the blending tool and Tumbled Glass ink.
  • Lay the inked piece onto your stamping platform.
  • Clean the card using Anti Static pillow
  • Secure card with magnets and place your stamp onto the platform.

Now for a TOP TIP

Ink image in Versamark and Stamp

Without cleaning first – Ink stamp again in Versafine

Remove from platform, add embossing powder and heat with heat tool.

You now have a beautiful, glossy image!

Repeat the process on your scrap card as you need another ‘head’ and ‘feet’

Time to colour!

Use a VERY light touch only to colour

Only use the tiniest amount of water. Your water brush should feel almost dry. If you prefer to use more water you’ll need to swap to a watercolour card.

Build the colour slowly.

NUVO pencil colours used:

  • Summer Sky
  • Fresh Water
  • Scuba Blue

Shoes and Hairband

  • Scuba Blue

  • Barely Bisque
  • Desert Camel
  • Caramel Popcorn
  • Soft Apricot

  • Willow Creek
  • Scuba Blue

Coffee Cup

  • Caramel Popcorn
  • Potato Skin
  • Natural Stone
  • White Cotton
  • Iced Tea

Colours are listed in the order that I used them.

  • When you’ve coloured your images, fussy cut the extra head and feet and attach using foam pads.
  • Glue stamped image onto the 10 x 14.4cm card and add layers to your card base.
  • Add Glossy Accents to shoes, mouth and coffee cup lids.
  • Take 3 strands of twine and make a bow. Attach with a glue dot.

I hope you enjoy making this card, if you have any questions please ask!

Stay safe.
