Hello!

Something very exciting has happened since I last blogged – the BRAND NEW Annual Catalogue is here! Whoop whoop!

If you have seen it you’ll know it’s worthy of two whoops 🙂 if you’d like to check out the digital copy you can do so here

If you don’t already have a demonstrator and you live in the UK I’ll happily send you your own shiny copy free of charge.

The pic below is part of my display that I had for my catalogue launch event and the project I’m sharing today was the Make and Take. It’s simple, stylish and oh so pretty.

I chose the Varied Vases stamp set for my project, it truly is one of my favourites and I could just play with it forever! Look at all those cute vases, flowers and sentiments! AND it has a matching punch available. Perfection!

Hinge Step Technique with the Stamparatus

Hello!

It is a BEAUTIFUL weekend here in England – we have seen soaring temperatures and blue skies.

With a three day weekend my Monday morning started like this…

If only all Monday’s started so slowly!

Of course there is always time for some crafting and I used my favourite new tool, the Stamparatus. It’s a very clever stamp positioning tool that will not only help you with those annoying snags like missing a bit of your stamped image off, not having your stamping straight or wanting to make multiples quickly. It’s also great for some really cool techniques.

The Hinge Step that I’m sharing with you today is a pretty basic one but it gives a great result!

Straight, perfectly lined up repeated patterns give your cards a great, professional finish.

The products I used are a mixed bag of retiring, last chance products and some launching 1 June.

The retiring items are:

Tutti-Frutti Classic ink spots (I used Real Red and Lemon Lime Twist)

Tutti-Frutti DSP

These are available until 31 May or while stocks last

Available 1 June

Stamparatus

Birthday Backgrounds Stamp set ( I used the candles stamp)

Pineapple Punch Blends, light. ( I used this to colour the ‘flame’ and finished them with Wink of Stella)

Card measurements

Lemon Lime twist Card -A4 cut in half on the short side at 10.5cm

Tutti-Frutti DSP – 10.5×14.9cm

Real Red card – 9.5×13.9xm

Whisper White – 9×13.4cm

Remarkably Created Blog Hop: Flowers

Hello!

A very warm welcome to my blog – Gather and Create. I’m excited to be part of the RemARKably Created Blog Hop and to be among such talented crafters! Our theme is ‘Flowers’ be sure to check out everyone’s beautiful projects – if you get lost at any point you can find the full list of bloggers a little further down.

I’m a big fan of the Wood Words stamp set, it has great images for so many projects and so many occasions. Pair it with the Wood Crate dies for a match made in heaven. For this project it was appropriate to let the flowers shine. I love how the flowers ‘pop’ when you add the watercolour pencils. It’s even better that it’s easy to do! Just add a little colour, blend with a blender pen and you’re done – simple 🙂

The Sweet Soiree embellishment kit is crammed with goodies and the velum flowers provided the perfect little something for this card.

Card Recipe

Thick Whisper white card base – Cut piece of A4 card on the long side at 14.9cm then scored at 10.5cm

Calypso Coral Layer 10 x 14.4cm

Marina Mist Layer 9.5 x 13.9cm

Sweet Soiree Specialty DSP 1 x 9.5cm

Please note: The Stamparatus is available to purchase from 1 June and Marina Mist is a retiring colour, available until 31 May or while stocks last.

I have made a video to show you how to put the card together.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have fun hopping around!

National Craft Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the National Craft Month Blog Hop.

If you have hopped here from Stampin’ with Lisa,  you are now at Gather and Create. The next blog is Craftyduckydoodah!

The theme for this month’s blog hop is Anything Crafty with Stampin’ Up! Products! Wow, there’s a challenge. I have one or 2 stamp sets to choose from, LOL! I decided to make a project using the Bike Ride Bundle, it’s definitely a favourite of mine and I wanted to try out my brand new Stamparatus too!  If you’re wondering what a Stamparatus is, it’s a stamp positioning tool. It went on pre-order in December but don’t panic if you didn’t order one it will be available in the Annual catalogue launching 1 June.

Even though the Bike Ride stamp set is in photopolymer I still found it much easier to line the 2 step stamps up with the Stamparatus.

There are so many cute images in this bundle!

Here’s what I created.

It’s Mother’s Day in the UK next Sunday (11 March) and my Mum loves dogs but sadly isn’t allowed one in the building she lives so I created a cute one from stamps, inks and paper instead. He looks very happy to be out for a bike ride doesn’t he? 🙂

Couple of tips and some info:

Standard Card base: Sahara Sand

Real Red Layer – 14 x 9.5cm

Wood Textures DSP – 13.5 x 9cm I used a sponge brayer to colour it with Pool Party ink

Stamp the sentiment in Soft Suede onto Smokey Slate scrap .8 x 6cm

The doggy, and sentiment have both been raised up with dimensionals.

Be sure to use the magnetic platform on your big shot, you don’t want to ruin your work.

Feel free to ask if I can help with any other questions.
