It’s time to go nuts for my latest blog post! (Sorry)
I’m playing along with the Sunday Stamps Colour challenge and I knew my cute Sammy Squirrel stamp set by Creative Expressions would be perfect for the gorgeous colour palette they chose.

Actually, I say it’s a cute stamp set but I think it’s kind of elegant and suited to lots of card making styles.

There are 6 separate photopolymer stamps in the set.
1 x Large Background stamp. It’s almost triangular so fits into the corners of your projects
1 x Small Background stamp
3 x Sentiments
1 x Sammy Squirell stamp

I chose Versa Color small ink pads for my project.
White Card:
Blue Card:
Stampin’ Up! Seaside Spray? Retired.
Brown Card:
In addition to the ink, stamps and card you will also need an ink blending tool.
Prep
Cut the blue card in half from the short side of A4 at 10.5cm
Score in half on the long side at 14.9cm
Cut 1 x white piece of card at 10.5 x 14.4cm for your insert and another at 9.5 x 13.9cm to stamp onto.
Cut 1 x Brown card at 10.5 x 14.4cm for the first layer.
You’ll also need a scrap piece of white card for the sentiment. Cut a strip approx 8mm wide and snip to size once you’ve stamped it.
Method
Using your ink blending tool add Atlantic ink to the top 2/3 of the card and Bark to the bottom of the card.
Take the large background stamp and ink using Atlantic pad on a small portion of it without using a block or stamping platform. Stamp the image by gently pressing it on the blue section only. Repeat the stamping until the ink had gone and repeat until you’re happy with your background.
Stamp Sammy using a block or stamping platform ( I prefer a platform). Use Pinecone ink. The image should fit perfectly on the bottom of your card.
Clean the Sammy Squirrel stamp and using the same method as the blue background take the Sammy stamp and ink the bottom right of the image with Bark ink. Create a small border that will give the illusion of foliage/trees.
Stamp the sentiment in Pinecone and trim to size. Once the ink has dried, ink the edges of the sentiment with Atlantic ink. I find it easiest to press each side into the ink pad.
Assemble the card as show, add the sentiment using foam pads.

If you haven’t tried playing along with card challenges I can highly recommend it. They are perfect for when you have lost your crafting mojo or you feel like you’re in a rut.
Let me know if you have decided to play along with this one and I will go and show your blog some love. You’ll find it here. 🙂
