I’m excited to share a spring-themed birthday card with you! I wish it was Spring here today though, the sky is dark and the rain is pouring down! Well, let’s face it, we can’t go anywhere right now so stay home and craft it is.
Have you visited Design Bundles lately? Be warned, it’s a bit of a wormhole but I did manage to narrow it down to one bundle to make a card to share with you. Don’t worry, I have TONS that I have previously downloaded from them.
Grab your SVG’s here and let’s make a card, my friend.
This project is a great scrapbuster!
How to make it
In Cricut Design Space, click new project.
From the canvas screen select upload images and choose the vintage truck SVG image from your computer downloads. You’ll need to make sure you unzipped the files.
Change the size to 7″
There are some super fiddly leaf shapes in this file – do not bother with them! (Ask me how I know)
To remove them – go to the layers and click the leaves you don’t want so that you have a crossed out eye on each one.
Cut 2 sets of these leaves
- These all the cut pieces you need. As you can see, I also cut 2 sets of wheels so that I could have the inner rim glittery.
- Add glitter, Mirri, and black card to the back of the truck for definition.
- Trim away the excess.
Before assembling, ink the edges of the die-cuts in coordinating inks using your favourite blending tool.
Prepare an A5 card base (A4 Folded)
Cut patterned paper to match your chosen colour palette.
2 x Strips 3/4 x 6″
2 x Strips 3/4 x 3″ and fishtail end to make banners in different lengths.
I used Dovecraft Painted Blooms paper pad.
Card mat is white 5 1/4 x 7 5/8ths
Ink edges of both white pieces using Tumbled glass distress ink.
For the sentiment
White Card 2 1/2 x 1 1/4
Glitter Card 2 3/4 x 1 1/2″Stamp sentiment in Versafine Black ink
Stamp set is Apple Blossom – Champagne & wine
Assemble your card as shown and you’re done! Flowers, car and sentiment panel are all popped up on foam pads.
